How Cellavie collects, combines, uses, shares, and retains data while operating and improving the platform.
Effective date: April 2026
When you create an account or sign in, we collect and store identity and account data such as your name, email address, username, profile image, social sign-in details, role, and account metadata from our authentication and account systems.
We collect technical and operational data about how you access Cellavie, including device type, operating system, browser or app version, session data, request logs, IP address, crash and error data, referral source, and performance telemetry.
We may collect coarse or precise location data, including latitude, longitude, inferred region, distance from a farm, and related trust or proximity signals when you browse nearby content, check in, redeem an offer, or use location-based features.
We collect data about your use of the product, including pages viewed, features used, farms opened, searches, filters, saves, routes, events, recommendations shown, check-ins, ratings, tasting notes, journal entries, submissions, uploaded media, Passport progress, missions, offers, and purchase or redemption activity.
We collect and combine data generated through interactions with farms, operators, claimed listings, campaigns, enquiries, support conversations, payment flows, subscriptions, merchant reporting, and other commercial or operational surfaces tied to Cellavie.
We may collect or receive data from farms, public directories, tourism sources, maps providers, analytics tools, payment providers, support tools, social sign-in providers, and other third parties or public sources relevant to operating, enriching, and improving Cellavie.
Cellavie is in an early learning and product-development phase. We currently operate with broad operational, behavioral, location, commercial, and analytical data collection so we can understand usage, improve the product, and make better decisions.
• Product operation — account access, authentication, security, support, fraud prevention, moderation, payments, billing, and service delivery.
• Personalisation and ranking — recommendations, sorting, route suggestions, offer targeting, Passport progression, and experience tailoring.
• Product intelligence — analytics, experimentation, debugging, journey analysis, retention work, adoption measurement, and strategic product learning.
• Commercial intelligence — understanding demand, farm performance, attribution, campaign outcomes, partner value, and revenue opportunities.
• Communications — service messages, support replies, account notices, and marketing or promotional communications where permitted.
We may share user-level data relevant to a specific farm or operator relationship, including visit, check-in, rating, note, redemption, enquiry, booking-intent, and other property-related interaction data, where we decide that visibility is needed for operations, support, commercial analysis, attribution, service delivery, or product improvement.
We use third-party service providers to help operate Cellavie, including infrastructure, authentication, analytics, crash monitoring, communication, media, data storage, mapping, and payment providers. These providers may process data on our behalf.
We may disclose data to selected partners, advisors, contractors, agencies, and consultants where needed to build, operate, analyze, market, support, secure, or improve Cellavie.
We may disclose personal information where required by South African law, a court order, or a valid request from a regulatory authority.
If Cellavie is involved in an investment, merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, relevant data may be reviewed, transferred, or disclosed as part of that process.
Some Cellavie features rely on device permissions such as location, camera, photos, and notifications. You can manage those permissions in your device settings, but some features may not work correctly if they are disabled.
We do not currently offer a general low-data mode or a general in-product opt-out for core product analytics, operational telemetry, or product-learning measurement. Some processing is part of how Cellavie currently operates and improves the service.
Where we send promotional communications, you may opt out of those communications through the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Service, billing, security, and operational communications may still be sent when necessary.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. We may retain information where needed for legal, security, operational, financial, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
To make a request, contact privacy@cellavie.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
We retain raw and derived data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Cellavie, analyze the business, improve the product, investigate fraud or abuse, support farms and users, satisfy legal or financial obligations, and preserve operational history.
Retention periods may vary by data type, source, legal requirement, payment record, security need, or product use case. We may retain backups, logs, event records, and derived analytics for longer than live-product records where reasonably required.
We may continue to retain de-identified, aggregated, or model-derived information after account closure or record deletion where lawful and operationally useful.
Cellavie and its service providers may process or store data inside or outside South Africa, including in jurisdictions where data protection laws differ from those in South Africa.
By using Cellavie, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions where that is necessary to operate the platform.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including access controls, vendor controls, encryption in transit, and platform security practices. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Cellavie evolves. We may change what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, or what controls we offer. The effective date on this page reflects the latest revision.
